Rocketry at Camp Bournedale
What a blast!

Three – two – one and with that a loud swoosh can be heard followed by the “oohs” and “ah” of campers as they follow the flight path of their model rockets. Rocketry is an incredibly popular Camp Bournedale summer camp program offering.

Campers of all ages will be able to build rockets from basic beginner levels to more advanced models, some that will even snap a mid-air photograph of camp!

The rockets with names like Big Bertha, Cosmic Cobra, Thunder Star, StormCaster and Meteor Masher, are favorites of the campers. Weekly launches on our spacious ball fields highlight this dynamic and interactive class and become a summer camp community event. Crowds gather to watch and cheer the rapid ascent and delicate landings of the camper made rockets.
